When do you go in the yurt? The yurt is our extreme weather refuge. Children enjoy rain and especially snow, but the winds of named storms can make some activities impossible. We have a place that is secure and peaceful.
Sometimes young children need rest during the day and we can let them sleep undisturbed in the quiet of the tent. Every day, after lunch, we go into the yurt for a Bible story and songs. The songs that we sing you will find on the Home Learning page of this website. |
Inside the yurt is a beautiful round meeting place. The roof is high at the centre, which gives a dignity to the space. The natural colours make it visually peaceful, which is ideal for more contemplative activity.
Children sit in a U formation facing the centre-piece of an image of the ark. Observe the candle to the right of the ark, and hanging on an ornate support pillar are hops from the farm where one of our children lives.
