At Mr Noah’s we provide opportunities for children’s learning through a Froebelian approach. Friedrich Froebel, 1782-1852, was a German educator whose insights have had a great influence on mainstream education of children worldwide. Froebel coined the term kindergarten - a child garden. Many are quite unaware of impact made by his ideas. At Mr Noah’s we consciously and deliberately follow the philosophy and principles that were taught by Froebel.
Froebel recognised play as the way in which young children learn best. Children must direct their own play and for this they need time and space in order to become deeply involved. Their activity may be indoors or very often it will be outdoors in the garden or in the woods. A Froebelian approach recognises the uniqueness of each child’s capacity and potential, takes a holistic view of each child’s development and an ecological view of mankind in the natural world.
